My colleagues and I at the Nehemiah Center grieve and we send our condolences to the numerous families of other Black men, women, and children who have died in police shootings or have come under the subjection of police brutality and abuse. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all families affected. This, however, MUST be coupled with accountability and action. We MUST demand justice and social equality.

That is why at the Nehemiah Center, our responsibility is to continue to educate ourselves on the persistent systemic injustices in society.  We are charged to obtain the resources necessary for learning in and out of school for the individuals we serve on a daily basis. So that the communities we touch will become empowered and enriched in every aspect of life.  Our goal is to eradicate hunger, decrease educational, financial inequities, and social disparities that exist in the communities we serve.  At the Nehemiah Center, we help develop more productive citizens and change some things in society at the same time.  Ensuring that every child, teenager, and adult realize that their life matters too.  As we strive for the PEACE that surpasses all understanding.

We ALL need to step up and make this the moment that "we, as a society, be the change that we want to see!"  In order for change to come, REMEMBER TO VOTE to let your voice be heard.
We also thank all first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, and essential workers around the world who sacrifice their lives for the good of mankind every day during the pandemic.  Hats off to all of you.
In compliance with governmental executive orders and local stay-at-home COVID-19 mandates, to help slow the spread of the virus and for the safety of our students, parents, staff, and volunteers, we have transferred our STEM Academy and pieces of our training online.  And when you have to go out, let's all continue to practice social distancing and wearing face masks to help stop the spread.
Make sure to signup as a member to receive updates on our status.  We will keep everyone up to date when restrictions have been lifted and when our programming and services will be offered face-to-face again.
Many have asked, "HOW CAN I HELP?".  Please check out our upcoming fundraisers below to support our cause.
Have a blessed day,
