Teen Apprenticeship

STEM Career Exploration/Teen Apprenticeship

Our goal here at Nehemiah is to expose our youth to a diverse field of learning.  We are partnered with FIRST NC, Guilford County's JCPC Division, Governor's Crime Commission & ApprenticeshipNC.  We have created a robust teen apprenticeship program for teens ages 14-17. This interactive learning curriculum combines online training and in-person labs that gives our youth a full learning experience.

We are creating career awareness by providing career exploration in robotic & electrical engineering, PC Assembly, software installation, coding, 3-D printing, and much more.  These activities provide diversity in various opportunities in the STEM, Robotic & I.T. fields.

Teens can also receive a weekly stipend during our summer employment training.  This includes workforce development and soft skills.  Teens work with our adult counselors as Jr. Counselors assisting with STEM activities and project, tutoring youth in math and reading and so much more.  Stipends for afterschool tutors is also available.

At Nehemiah, we offer hands-on and simulated learning systems designed to help students experience real-life work environments with state of the art labs and technology.  Teens also rebuild computer systems that they get to keep.  Includes monitor, mouse and keyboard.

Check out our gallery below and meet some of society's future Scientists, Technicians, Engineers & Mathematicians.  Our team name, The Geodebots, is so fitting because we are breaking the mold, pulling back the layers and discovering the hidden gem inside all of our teens.  Thereby, creating diversity in these fields.
